"Two bowls from the same burl — one story, told in two forms."
This is the sister bowl to listing 4464713130. Both were born from the same salvaged oak burl, recovered from a local park in San Jose, California. I cast Kippot — traditional Jewish cloth skull caps — into the resin that fills the burl's natural voids and crevices.
After curing, each piece is returned to the lathe and turned into its final form, then hand-sanded through multiple grits and finished to bring out the full warmth of the oak. The two bowls are sized to nest together, making them an ideal pair for display or gifting.
This one-of-a-kind bowl has found its home. I'd love to create something similar just for you.
